Important Advisory: The Heat Index values on this chart are derived from airport weather station readings, carried out in the shade, away from sunlight and other radiant heat. Direct sunlight can raise Heat Index values by as much as 15°F. To make an average summertime adjustment for sunlight and radiant heat, add these values: 6 am, +1°F; 8 am, +5°F, 10 am, +8°F; 12 noon, +8°F; 2 pm, +9°F; 4 pm, +10°F; 6 pm, +8°F; 8 pm, +3°F.

Wet Bulb Globe Temperature is a standard heat stress measurement used in athletic, military and industrial studies. Here are the WBGT curves for the two hottest days of the heat wave. These values have been adjusted to account for actual outdoor heat stress conditions:
