Since these are the "Summer" Games, scheduling the event before June 1 or after September 15 is out of the question. It may be possible to hold them in early June, which would decrease heat stress risk somewhat. If held in late August, the competitors (most of whom are from the northern hemisphere) would have had a better chance to develop heat tolerance before the Games began. Early July to early August will be difficult, but the sponsors would prefer that time slot.

You then decide to survey different times of day, in hope of finding some refuge from brutally hot conditions. Following are the 6 a.m., 8 a.m., 10 a.m.,  4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Heat Index maps. Please study them at your leisure, then proceed to the following page.
